You know the saying work hard play hard? We take full advantage and make sure we are doing both equally! We have made it custom when traveling to trade shows that we also stop to smell the roses along the way. We find unique spots in each city to visit and learn about the culture and soak in the atmosphere.

On our recent travel to Oregon we made sure to live it up and ask people the best places to visit. We had an entire day to spend and we chose two very fun spots. We are really into history and learning about the past that makes the present so beautiful. I’m glad my mom passed down this passion because it’s great bonding time! We visited the historical site Pittock Mansion where it’s nestled in the hills of Portland and sits 1,000 feet above the city line. (Beautiful view!) Something that we loved seeing was they kept scrapbooks back then. Yes I said scrapbooks! Even they knew the importance of saving memories and passing it down. Of course they are not as extravagant as they are now but it served an important purpose. We need to remember that our books do not need to all be the best but we just need to do it. Simple pages keep the memories just as well as ornate ones.

The next place we visited was Haystack Rock on the coast of Oregon. I was dying to see the beach and forced my mom to drive us out to Cannon Beach. Although when you think “beach” you think warm but I don’t know if there is a warm beach in Oregon! It was cold enough for gloves and a hat! You could definitely tell we were tourists when we showed up in our light jackets. Beside the brisk weather we had so much fun enjoying the view and listening to the roar of the ocean.
